Kumaon hills : second most visited tourist spot in India

Kumaon Hills and especially Nainital District is the country’s second most visited region after Goa (as per one recent survey). Within this area, Ramnagar (Corbett) is the closest by distance.

The Kumaon Hills are the abode of Hindu gods with thousands of temples, shrines and ashrams situated in and around cities, towns, villages, caves, mountain tops, rivers and lakes. 

 

It is a centre of spirituality, peace, well-being and connection with nature from Vedic times.

The Kumaon Hills have unique soils and climate which allow very distinctive and exclusive herbs and spices. The mythical Sanjeevni Booti was from the Dronagiri mountain near Dwarahat. 

 

The clay and red soil are mineral rich and acidic, allowing for a plethora of very unique herbal plants and spices
